http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative_Bible_Project

As you all know, the bible is full of liberal bleeding heart stories but until now no one bothered to correct the obvious mistakes in the scripture.

Far be it from god fearing conservatives to doubt the written down words of god - no, the error lies not within god but in the translation of the scripture.

I'm not sure if even a conservative bible will satisfy Glenn Beck, though, since it will likely still include Jesus Christ and his teachings in some form, but it's an ... interesting project to watch.

Of course, evil liberals are constantly trying to sabotage the project (it's a wiki after all) or derail it by engaging contributors in pointless discourse.

And that's why the "talk"-pages for articles are often much more interesting to read than on most regular wikipedia pages.

"Reply to Liberal Talk

Several liberal comments were inserted, and then reverted, in the content page. One claimed that the word "war" is conservative (??), and that references to "war" in the Bible are examples of conservative translation. First, "war" is not a conservative word (conservatives virtually never start wars). Second, there is no other way to translate the word! [...]

You really have to admire the certainty and self-conception of the main contributors.

And I thought this was a joke.  What they are shooting for is a "PC bible"...as per their views.  Same thing the "Jesus Seminar" does.  It's gets about the same result as some of the circular forum arguments you see--just makes the writers feel better and proves nothing.

However, some of their aims (after looking at it) are not incorrect.  There is a differnce in "translation" and "cultural interpertation".  Some of the things they address are valid...but way to "politicise" the bible.  Yotz.

Frankly, i really hope for our world these people are a tiny minority...

I have been educated in a catholic school and i have a lots of friends who believe in god but i am an atheist.

As such, i am evil for the people behind the conservapedia.

I don't believe in god but for all i have heard, read and been thinking about it, it is not about despising liberals, atheists and homosexuals. And they think they have "morality"... They may read the bible but they clearly don't understand it.

I am going to recommend RationalWiki to everyone who visits this thread so you can learn the truth about the whackjob Conservapedia. Even some people who consider themselves conservatives would think that Conservapedia is extreme.

Lol-I am a Christian and mostly conservative and it looks whacky to me--on several levels.  Trying to qualify and rationalize spiritual principles with political interpertations is about as stupid as it gets.  It's actually somewhat offensive.

Please do not use the off-topic forums (which go to our game sites) to post inflammatory political topics.

If you want to debate politics, go to another site (JoeUser.com or DailyKos or whatever is your thing).
