If that were the case .... then why are the top four books all conservative books?  Perhaps liberals are too busy getting paid and bused to townhall locations to be able to read books. Conservatives don't get paid to show up to townhall meetings- they do it because they fear that we will become more socialistic than the United Kingdom and right behind France.



The reason for Fox beating the tar out of CNN and MSNBC is because NBC/MSNBC doesn't really critize our government because their head of the corporation is now in government and CNN, well, they lost all credibility during the Iraw wars among other things. As well, most of the time, Fox has two people on each side of the coin irrespective of the host's views.

Personally, I find a lot of what Beck says to make a lot of sense. He asks questions that most of the media seems either unable to ask or are too afraid to ask.

How about all these 'Czar's' that are not elected into office, and answer to only one man?

How about all the lies that Obama has made - not out of context? Letting us, the people, have 5 days to read and comment on any bill before it is signed by him, for example. No, now everything seems to be such an 'emergency' that that can not be done.

How about pushing through massive 1,000+ page bills in a time frame that no one has the time to read it, nor the smarts to really understand without a legal team to explain every line and how it applies to every other line? Why is it that everything needs to be done right now!!!

He really pushed for the health care/insurance reform bill to be passed and signed into law before the summer break, yet it will not even go into effect until 2013. Why the huge rush?

Beck may get into strange behavior sometimes. I think it is only because there is so much going on that it just overwhelms the mind, if one were to try to keep track of it all to put everything into some kind of coherent whole perspective.

Beck has high ratings because he makes sense to a lot of people that really believe in the Constitution and what it means and stands for.

Unfortunately, too many people have been indoctrinated out of that kind of thinking in these past few decades.

President Obama has bombers for friends, he stole two car companies from the the bondholders and owners, and gave the majority of it to the UAW, one of his czars is a founder of the Weather Underground, a couple of others are self-confessed Marxists, he was a national trainer for Acorn, a criminal organization devoted to voter fraud nation-wide, he has said publicly that he sought out Marxist professors and radicals in university, he voted against a law that would provide doctoral care for aborted babies that were still alive, and that's just the beginning, and you want us to believe Glenn Beck is dangerous. Glenn Beck plays videos of President Obama and his associates making their views known clearly; he shows the actual associations of various groups and people. The facts and the people involved speak for themselves; he's not making it up. President Obama is on tape saying that he wants a single-payer health system (that means exclusively government-run), and he's on tape saying that he didn't say that. What is dangerous about someone playing those tapes for us to see.

In the beginning, the cars.gov site had a license agreement that stated something to the effect that the COMPUTER logging in would be government property; that the dealer would be waiving his privacy rights, etc. The private checking account business is associated with the health care bills. That waiver was on the website, and was taken down shortly after because of complaints.

you know, there are just so many issues here that forest gets ignored for the trees. if you think health care is just for those that have health insurance, then you'll probably lose yours at some point because the cost to your employer will be too great to provide. if you think free trade is the answer, wait until your job is farmed out to the lowest bidder. if you think the market will regulate itself, oops that one has already happened, hasn't it. madoff goes to jail for his get rich efforts while the ceo's of those companies that caused the collapse get bonuses.

my point is the lack of common ground. that old "united we stand, divided we fall" kind of thing. we are a divided nation and as a divided nation will never be in charge of our destiny. we give that control to those that control the media and as long as that is based on market share, well you can probably figure it out from here.

if we did the right thing (with integrity, being responsible, etc.) regardless of our personal feelings, beck would be tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail. we all need health care, we all need jobs and we need a trade policy that reflects quid pro quo. the golden rule should prevail instead of those that have the gold make the rules.

I agree absolutely with everything you wrote except the tarring and feathering business. I'm no fan of Beck's nor any other of the talking heads. They're in it for the money and whatever they pass off for "ideals", certainly not the public good. They're in time slots and supported by advertisers interested in hawking their wares. The truth is far from all of them.

Karen probably came closest to a real truth: We have limited time here, and should be enjoying precious moments, creating beauty for ourselves and others.

I've often written here in Forums that America is Advanced Democracy. That means (among other things) one has the right to free speech. It also means to protect that precious freedom, one has to be willing to fight to the death to protect it even if that means doing it for someone/something you find personally/intellectually abhorrent.

I have lost the belief that there are many or any that feel that way anymore. That being said, I hope and pray I'm wrong for if I am not, the obvious meaning for America is all too clear.

We become all too easily diverted from the enemies we cannot see: Those who truly control our lives because they have the money and power. Beck, Olbermann.... any of the entertainers you mention are digital age side shows. Nothing more. If we can be so easily provoked to anger and rage, they've done their masters' bidding.

I couldn't help but notice he left out the fact that for twenty years they were protected. Or that there were numerous versions of that bill. Or that the one Obama voted on had the capacity to overturn ROE V WADE. Or that his Mormom background had no influence over his bringing this up and that he was being completely objective in doing so.

Chrysler was stolen from the rightful owners whether they mismanaged their business or not. The bondholders were forced to accept 20 cents on the dollar, and some people's pension funds were nearly wiped out. Is that alright with you? The union didn't pay for it's 55% ownership stake in the company, it was seized from the rightful owners, and given to them. Is that alright with you? The UAW has negotiations for their contractual relationship with the companies, so they have had a say all along.

I see here that Glenn Beck's background is meaningful, but that Obama's is not. Guilt by association,Po? It's dubious that the bill had the capacity to overturn Roe vs. Wade; I know that's the excuse he gives. Nonetheless, he voted against a bill that would provide care for a surviving baby, just like a bill that passed the U.S. Senate without a dissenting vote, as I recall.

The facts are the facts--President Obama continues his merry university associations to this day; nothing has changed in that regard. How about a Weather Underground founder being one of his Czars right now? What about his associations with Acorn, right now? What about other Marxists in his group of unaccountable Czars right now? That is the context of how we arrive at his mindset. What about his civilian army?
