I remember a BBC report where they went to some bar in the rural south when vets hung out asking the patrons if they thought Obama would be a good military leader. the point, um, I think that there are many folks that hope Obama fails just because of the color of his skin. there may be some posting here, I don't know but the veracity of some comments tend to make me think that way.

the pundits were stating that they hope Obama fails. the prosperity of the country is equal to the success of policies from the "hill". if Obama fails, we all fail. look at the condition of the country to make your own best judgment/assessment of the previous administration.

This is why I've stated time and time again that "perception is everything" and why the Buddhists claim truth is that which is believed to be, not necessarily what really is.  Your "truth" is that you are an intelligent person who is a good judge of character, unbiased, able to cut through bullshit, and you have respect for Glenn Beck, therefore those of us who view him as an ass clown are insulting you personally, and in fact that makes US ass clowns.

This is FAITH, John.  You have faith in Glenn Beck because he's telling you want you have preconceived as the truth.  When someone points out that at one point when he was with CNN he said the American health care system was terrible, and then 16 months later at FOX he said it was the best in the world--in order to relieve the cognitive dissonance of his hypocrisy you choose to ignore his first statement, as if it didn't happen, because your brain needs to reward itself (ALL our brains need to reward themselves, like crazed little crack addicts), and in order to make that happen, the first statement needs to be pushed out of the "remember this" part of our brain, and we have successfully disposed of the part we don't like, the brain releases reward chemicals.

Here are things that I believe and that I have faith in:  I believe you are an intelligent person.  I believe, by nature, you have the chemical makeup of someone who prefers structure and dislikes novelty.  (Your Windowblind skins reflect this makeup, BTW).  I believe that you will continue to believe what Glenn Beck and the rest of the Fox shills say because it reinforces what you already hold to be true.  This does NOT mean that I think you're not intelligent or a good judge of character, but what is a good character to you is not necessarily what is a good character to me.  Because by MY nature I enjoy novelty, and shun structure the people you think are bad characters sometimes have qualities that can be beneficial to me.  This does not make either one of us right or wrong -- we're just gravitating towards the things our chemical makeup is more suited for.

What I find truly beautiful is that despite the fact that we are polar opposites on so many issues, we can still be friends and respect each other for the people we are.  And that's all I have to say on that.
